About 1877 David Alexander moved with his second wife, Martha Cook, and the children of Sarah, his first wife, to Chico, Wise Co., Texas, where he and Thomas Benton Maxwell are found in the 1880 census. The children listed in the household of D. A. Maxwell as indicated by the Census were born in first Illinois and following Arkansas. They spent at least 7 yrs in Arkansas and should appear on the Arkansas 1870 Census.
